The bio I use on social media goes like this:
SoDak State Alum. Cat Mom. GB Packers. DSP. Anglophile. Bookish. Musical. Neurodivergent. Maker of things. Writer. Non-mincer of words.
I call myself a writer, even though I’ve only really published blog posts and Substack articles. It’s a mental thing, really. If I convince myself that I’m a writer, then maybe I’ll finish the 15 partially finished drafts I have sitting on my computer.
When I’m not writing, I work as a Lead Direct Support Professional in an adult group home with 12 wonderful people I support who have a disability, but are all very special to me for various reasons. I love my day job. I’ve been doing this for 8 years. My work schedule gives me time to write.
What else about me?
I’m married, middle-aged, and sassy; I have two cats and one grown human son. I live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I like to read. I also volunteer at our local Humane Society, where I go to the cat adoption room at least once a week to hang out with the kitties, pet them, give them treats, hold them, and play with them.
I was never a cat person until 2018, and then I fell head over heels in love with them.
I’m also an unapologetic Green Bay Packers fan and have been for as long as I can remember. And I remember the years before Brett Favre and Mike Holmgren and Reggie White. Those were some lean years, to put it mildly.
My dream is to finish one of my manuscripts and publish it.
